The First Days of School Were Full of Excitement, Joy, and Connection

Parents/Guardians, please check your inbox for an email titled 'Photos and Video Highlights from the First Days of School,' sent on August 16th. It includes high-resolution photos from the week. After the write-up, you'll find a video and photos here on the website.

The excitement was real as our students kicked off the new school year with enthusiasm and joy! This week, Elementary and Middle School students walked the red carpet to start their first day, and our youngest students in Early Childhood joined in soon after. It’s a special feeling having the Orchard community back on campus, ready to learn, explore, and grow together.

Throughout the week, our Owls flew into activities designed to help them connect with new friends and get acquainted with both familiar and new spaces on campus. They explored Orchard’s woods, ventured to Holliday Park (just a half mile down the street) and even interviewed and got to know more about our Interim Head of School, Ed Hollinger.

As students settled into their classrooms—whether indoors or out—students took on challenges like the ropes course, enjoyed delicious scratch-made lunches, and embraced the good vibes of a new school year. The week was capped off with a visit from our Owl mascot during an all-school assembly, where we celebrated each grade and raised our voices to the Orchard hymn and fight song.

It’s been a fantastic start, and we can already feel the energy and excitement that will carry us through this school year. Here’s to an incredible year of learning, growing, and soaring together!
