The Orchard School Summer Camp is looking for enthusiastic, responsible, and team-oriented counselors, both part-time and full-time, to join our team for the upcoming summer camp season.
As a Camp Counselor, your main responsibility will be assisting Camp Instructors with daily activities and programming. You'll work closely with instructors to ensure activities run smoothly, providing support as needed. Additional duties may include supervising children during playground time, lunch, and transitions throughout the day.
Campers come to The Orchard School Summer Camp from throughout Indianapolis and the surrounding communities. Counselors play a vital role in making each child feel comfortable, helping them build relationships, and ensuring they have a fun, engaging, and memorable camp experience.
Qualifications and Attributes:
- Enjoys working with children and adapts easily to different teaching situations
- Capable of teaching and guiding campers effectively
- Strong team player with the ability to collaborate
- Willing to learn and grow professionally
- Demonstrates sound judgment and emotional maturity
- Able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, regardless of weather conditions
Camp Dates & Hours:
- June 2-July 25
- 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Flexible/Part Time hours are available.
- Additional hours may be available with the camp before and after care program.
Camp Training Date:
- Friday, May 30, 2:00-5:00 p.m.
Pay Rate:
- Ages 14-17: $10-$12 per hour, depending on experience
- Ages 18 and older: $15 per hour; returning counselors earn $15.50-$16.50/hr, depending on experience
