The Orchard Core: CSI ORCHARD WINTERM

The Winterm CSI Orchard had a great first week with Stone Robbins, Jennifer Caldwell, and Shari Grinnell when they worked on their observation skills and then they went to the crime lab at the University of Indianapolis. Students were split into three groups and were given tasks to complete for each of the three stations. To begin, the first group had the task to identify the fingerprints of the characters of the popular show “Outer Banks.” Then they were tasked to use bullet casings to find what firearm was used to commit the crimes. The students explored a bedroom crime scene set and figured out what happened in the scene.

I asked sixth grader Drew about his experience. He said, “I’m enjoying the CSI Orchard Winterm. When asked about his favorite part, he answered, “The field trip!” Next, I interviewed  Mr. Robbins. He said his favorite part of the experience was the bedroom crime scene. Today in CSI Orchard they are taking their fingerprints and seeing if they have arches, loops, or whorls, while also learning how to lift and find fingerprints. CSI Orchard has had a great first week. They have many great and fun days to look forward to.
