Strategic Plan

Like other schools, Orchard is guided through a series of Strategic Plans, approved by the Board of Governors and Board of Trustees. Systematic monitoring and appraisal are important processes to ensure that Orchard’s path to the future is in keeping with the mission and our commitment to doing what is best for children.

The previous Strategic Plan guided the school from 2002-2007. In the fall of 2006 Orchard embarked upon another planning process to guide the school from 2007-2012. Believing in the value of an inclusive process, Orchard conducted surveys about strategic needs and initiatives with all members of the school community and convened parent and faculty focus groups, followed by discussions with board members, faculty and administration. In the summer of 2007 the Head of School and administration, under direction from the Board of Trustees, developed the final draft of the new strategic plan and accompanying action plan to be approved by both boards and then published for the Orchard community in the fall of 2007.
